Coping With Ebay Category Changes
By know every online affiliate and no doubt the whole of the worlds online community knows there are big changes happening with Ebay and the Ebay affiliate network. When Meg Whitman announced in January she would be stepping down the community had mixed feeling and a taste of doubt. That is what would be happening.
Well the time has come to evaluate some of the changes and from what I've seen is Ebay Stores closing daily and affiliates becoming frustrated by the changes Ebay is heaping on them.
Mid March 2008 Ebay announced they would bring the affiliate program in house. Then March 25 it was announced that significant category changes are coming in April aswell as the migration of the affiliate program.
Since Ebay tends to keep details of these types of changes close to the vest we have no choice but to take the wait and see approach.
Coping with these changes doesn't need to be as difficult as it may seem. Simply try to always stay prepared for change. I have compiled a list of things I do to try and make changes on the Internet easier. Make a list of all domains and blogs.
Make a list of all affiliate programs.
Keep a ongoing accounting of where affiliate links are.
Organize and re arrange files and photos
Compile articles into relevant folders.
Clean up bookmarks and arrange into relevant categories.
Bookmark relevant sites and sign up for Email alerts.
Sign up for RSS feeds from relevant sites like the Ebay Developers Site and blogs.
To keep your self busy research long tail keyword for your sites and article.
I have chosen to stop building new sites and promote whilst I try and get ready for change.
All and all I believe change on the Internet will never end so to keep up a few simple steps can go a long way. GOOD LUCK WITH ALL YOUR INTERNET ENDEVERS
